Hi there /

I am a hobbyist photographer, and this is my website.

A minor update.

Dearest friends,
Great things are happening. I’m feeling better. I’m sorry for my absence. Sometimes you sadly just lack the words and motivation, but I’ll try to change this from here-on now. I’m currently on sick leave to September 30th so naturally I’m not doing an awful lot. However, I’ve just started working/helping on an awesome project that my friend started. One of my hobbies (or dreams, maybe?) is coming true, so I’m really stoked about this!

I hope you are all well and that the Year of the Dragon hasn’t been too rough on you, I wish you all a warm summer!

Long awaited update?

Once again I am sorry for being slow with the updates. I haven’t really felt like writing. I had a wonderful holiday and new years eve, Zaka was here.

I’m going to make this short. I’m currently looking for a job and working on figuring some stuff out. I hope I’ll find something that’s suitable for me, I would love to work with IT. Oh well, the search continues!

An update..

Zaka was here about a week ago, it was very nice to have him here. He’s coming in late December to stay for two weeks, we will be celebrating New Years Eve together! I am really looking forward to it. It feels like I can relax and let my guard down a little when he is here, things are much easier when he is around. He makes me feel great, he means the world to me.

Since I started my new medication, about 30+ days ago, I have started to suffer from a lot of side-effects. They are starting to get more severe now and I’m worried. The doctor did tell me that it may take a while, maybe months, for the medication to work. I suppose I should try and keep it together until I meet my doctor again on December 12. Some of the side-effects are easier to manage but the nausea is really starting to take its toll. The problem is that my appetite is taking a huge fall, among other things, which is something I really don’t need. Losing weight is the least thing I need. The reason I haven’t updated my blog a lot is because dealing with these side-effects takes a lot of energy which makes me less motivated to write something. I hope things will turn soon.

Crappy things aside, I started playing Skyrim and my review is this: AMAZING. The only bad thing is that the PC version (a port from consoles) is rather buggy and unreliable. I suffer from a lot of crashes to desktop which can be quite unnerving. Luckily Bethesda is coming out with a patch after Thanksgiving, I hope they will fix these constant crashes. I really love the game. I am currently playing a Destruction mage, I feel like a little pyromaniac! I got the collectors edition so I have a cute little dragon statue:

Alduin
Alduin is currently sitting on my desk! The awesome coaster was a gift from Isabel.

Yesterday the Tegan and Sara DVD/CD  Get Along arrived in the mail. I will need to pick up the signed posters, they were apparently sent in a different package. It makes sense, though.

Get Along

Get Along.

I need to finish the holiday shopping. I have to find gifts for a few more. Hopefully, I will feel well enough to go outside and fix the last ones next week. That’s all from me today. I’ll try to update more frequently.

Apologies.

It’s been a while since I posted a new blog entry.. A lot of stuff have happened.. My father passed away two weeks ago and so I had to go to Norway last weekend for his funeral. It was one of the hardest things I have ever done in my life but in a way I got some answers of questions I’ve been seeking of him all my life. I’m just sorry they were answered in this way. I hope he finally found the peace he always sought for..

There have been a few other things that I have struggled with but things are starting to get clearer. I’m mostly tired and I need to recover from all of what’s happened lately.

On the bright side, Zaka is coming to visit me next week. I can’t wait! I also found a puzzle I’ve been searching for in a store in Norway, perhaps we’ll start on it when he is here. If not, he’s coming again the 22nd to spend the holidays and the New Year with me!

Tomorrow I am meeting Isabel for a walk in the park and pasta at Casa Mia! Hopefully I won’t forget my camera..

Goblets and stuff.

I’m sorry that I have been slow with updating. I don’t want to post any blog entries just cause, I don’t like to force anything. Not much have happened really, days have just gone by. I’ve been sick with a cold and now that I’m better I’ve been working a bit. Monday, I had a doctor’s appointment that went pretty well. I feel like I’m finally getting heard and that things are starting to happen and take shape. I shouldn’t have to switch doctors and health center for this but sadly this is the reality.

Today I had lunch with Isabel at Casa Mia, delicious as always. We went to the sci-fi bookstore and I had to restrain myself not to buy anything. On the way home I stopped to pick up the dragon drinking goblets I ordered for Zaka (I miss him. A lot.) and me. They’re pretty awesome:

I also got the embroidery kit last week, I forgot to mention that. I haven’t started on it since I’ve been sick and since I am waiting for my sister to send me some needles and two Thread Heaven. I figured that it’s better to start when I have all the stuff need. I still need a few markers to help me check off which stitches I’ve made and such, anyway.

I bought a BlizzCon Virtial Ticket yesterday, so I suppose a weekend in October is booked already. I like to watch the lore discussions and Q&A’s, especially about the Warcraft universe. I think I’ll stay away from the Diablo 3 parts as much as possible. I’m afraid that there will be too many spoilers.

Books. I want to order books. There are so many that I want, no, that I need. Isabel bought two books today and I want the same ones, but I think I will order them when I order the Seeker of Truth 4-6 books. I need more storage for my books, DVDs  and games. I want shelves on the walls, heck, I want things on the walls in general.. Never really bothered much until now, mainly because I want to see things of importance, just knowing they’re here somewhere won’t cut it. It may make me feel happier, who knows? Some things carry great symbolic meanings to me. Some things would just be nice to show off. Perhaps one day I’ll feel at home here.

The perfect weekend..

Zaka went home two days ago, we had the perfect weekend together. I miss him a lot but hopefully he will be back sooner rather than later. I greeted him with a Subway Melt at the station last Thursday evening, then we went home, drank some strawberry wine and watched a bit of TV-shows.

The next day, Friday, we went out downtown and ate delicious pasta at Casa Mia then strolled along the main street. I helped Zaka find a nice sweater which suited him perfectly. I found a nice tie for him as well, but we didn’t buy it. We were meant to go to the movies but at the end of the day we were too tired so we went home to my mother and had some coffee with her. We then carried home a lamp my mother let me have, so now I have better light in my apartment! We started on the Dragon Lord puzzle and had just a few pieces left by the end of the evening. On Saturday, we finished the puzzle:

Later on Saturday we went to IKEA and had lunch, bought a gift for my mother because we were to visit her on Sunday for dinner. We then ventured to Jägersro Centrum and bought Zaka two plaid shirts and a black shirt. It made me happy to shop clothes with him and see his expressions when they fit. Mission accomplished. When we got home we rested a bit and watched Thor later in the evening. It was an entertaining movie. I love Natalie Portman and Anthony Hopkins.

During Sunday we mostly took it easy, Zaka fixed my processor fan and smeared some new thermal paste so now the processor isn’t as hot anymore. Relieving to say the least! He also cleaned a little, although apparently my PC wasn’t so dusty. It’s nice to have someone like him to help me with these things. We had dinner at my mother, she had done a lovely dish followed by a delicious desert. We had a really nice time and it makes me happy to see that my mother and Zaka goes along well together. Later come evening we watched the movie Sanctum (which wasn’t a favorite of mine)  and then a few Glee episodes. I finally got him to watch Glee.

Then along came Monday and it was time for Zaka to go home. We had lunch at Subway and went to buy the tie we found during Friday. It was hard to see him go. Luckily I had a few meetings to attend so I could keep my mind busy with other things. I got my schedule for the two coming weeks, fixed a doctor’s appointment and then went home to my mother and had coffee with her for a few hours. I started feeling a bit ill during the evening and woke up yesterday overwhelmed with a lousy cold. I’m trying to treat myself the best I can since I start work on Friday.

That’s pretty much everything that I’ve done the past few days. Things are bitterly back to normal. I long for the next time I will have perfect days like these again. They’re well needed. I have a rough time ahead of me because I need to sort things out with health and with work. Thinking back about the weekend makes me smile, I have that to live on for a while.

Cleaning.

I have spent most of the day cleaning the apartment, it looks quite nice now. My back really hurts after the cleaning but I’m quite proud of myself. It’s always nice to have a home that isn’t a mess. I only need to put some things away from one of my tables, then it’s all done! But that can wait, I need a well deserved break. I am thinking some black tea, crackers and cheese to relax from a day of cleaning.

I can’t wait for tomorrow evening! It is going to be a wonderful evening followed by some amazing days, I’m sure..

Carepackage!

I have tried to clean a bit today but it’s going rather slow. I want to make it a bit nicer for Zaka’s arrival but I’m quite sure I won’t do much more for the day. I’ll leave the vacuuming and mopping of the floor to tomorrow or possibly early Thursday. Anyhow, I took a break from the cleaning to head to pick up a package. I didn’t know what kind of package it was, if it was the embroidery or the things we ordered from Anne Stokes:

This was inside!

Zaka and I had ordered a puzzle from the Anne Stokes webshop as I have earlier mentioned. He also added a few items of his own, a sweetheart as he is, for me/us. Here are each of them at closer look and with Anne Stokes’ comments about each design/art. Should you want anything for yourself you can always check out the Anne Stokes webshop!

Dragon Lord puzzle
My idea was to show a long forgotten castle. The stained glass window shows a king and his dragon. Maybe the skull is his and the small dragon a descendant of a lost age of dragons returning to its master. Or of course it can mean whatever the viewer wants it to!

Celestial Dragon necklace
Favorite of the Chinese emperors, the Celestial Dragon’s scales hold the magical secrets of Yin and Yang. Protecting a crystal in the colour sacred to the fabled Terracotta Army, Celestial Dragon ensures triumph over evil.

Dragonfly Fantasy Art Scroll
The name of the dragonfly insect inspired me to create this character – an unusual and mystical creature.

Since Zaka is coming in just a few days, on Thursday, I made sure we have something nice to drink. I went and bought strawberry wine which we both enjoy very much. It’s going to be lovely to just relax, puzzle, eat and enjoy each other’s company. I’m excited! I was also at IKEA with my mother a few days ago and bought some bed sheets, towel, a little lamp and boxes for freezing food in. Zaka has his own towel here now, his is on top and mine is below:

Yesterday and today I helped my sister set up her new website, it’s coming along nicely. You can check it on http://www.ronjja.com. She loves to craft various things and has a lot of different and fun projects and hobbies!

Puzzle Roll.

Yesterday I bought a puzzle roll so it’ll be easier to continue laying puzzles after taking a break with them. I didn’t find the second puzzle I was looking for, so I might have to see if I can get another pretty puzzle once we’ve finished the Anne Stokes puzzle.

Puzzle Roll!

I went into Panduro Hobby and there were some on sale items I had to force myself not to buy. It’s enough with the projects I have going so far..

On a very good note, Zaka is coming here in a week. I can’t wait! Now I’m going to continue to drink my tea and eat my breakfast with that in mind. It will keep a smile on my face.

Puzzles!

I came home from Trollhättan late yesterday evening. It was nice to see everyone again, the kids have all grown so much. It’s amazing how fast they all learn. I stayed with Linda, Nicklas and Strumpan. Linda gave me some tips and tricks for when I’m going to start stitching, so now I’m even more excited about it! I also laid a puzzle with Strumpan which made me think about how much I like laying puzzles..

So.. Zaka and I ordered a puzzle from Anne Stokes’ store, it’s only 500 pieces but the motive has a dragon! Hopefully it will be here in due to his arrival so we can lay it together. He’s coming the 15th. I was out looking for another puzzle today at Toys R Us, but they didn’t have the one I was looking for. I’ve now found out they may have it in another store and decided I’d look for it tomorrow since I’m going to buy a puzzle mat anyway.

I had a meeting today and met my mother after, we went to Toys R Us as I’ve already mentioned, then to Jägersro Centrum. I bought some groceries and something for Zaka. Then we walked home, which was pretty nice. The weather isn’t the best today but it was still good enough to enjoy a well-needed walk.

I also added a few new photos that I took during the weekend with my Hipstamatic iPhone App, here’s one:
